Cylinder head corrosion

Just been out to have a quick glance over the bike, having not used it that much recently and noticed that there is some corrosin between the cooling fins on the head covers. Any idea how i can sort the problem out. Do i have a go at rubbing it down and repainting, if so how and with what. Any advice appreciated.

Maybe have them professionally stripped and powder coated? Just a suggestion, but that should permanently prevent any corrosion problems in the future.

I'm guessing that your bike is out of warrentee. Otherwise I'd get the heads replaced. I had the same problem on my 06 GS and got it sorted by BMW.

Yeah, the bike is a 2005. Would the paint take the heat from the fins?

Did mine with silver base coat and matt 2K clear coat, no problem with heat what so ever.
