Dead bike

Interested in this one. I have a dead hexhead that GS911 says cannot communicate with controller, there is a thread in hexheads somewhere with some detail.

Don’t want to derail your thread. So if your GS911 does not communicate with ECU and with some key symbol and headlight comes on does this indicate failed ECU. Just thinking out loud.

The bike doesn't recognise the key so maybe ring antenna is at fault around the ignition.

I'm at a loss.

If you have a yellw warning triangle and the Key symbol , its a failure of the immobiliser and the key sync

Have you tried your black key under the rear wheel arch , that will allow the bike to start

Sounds like it may be an ecu issue,

Do not enquire about the cost , it's scary and if you can get an ecu this side of chrimbo

My MY16 ecu failed 28 weeks to get a new ecu !

Running out of ideas now. Is it in Neutral? Side stand switch? Clutch Switch.

Doesn't explain key symbol.

Is it a brand new battery or have you charged the old one?

Maybe one for BMW to sort.

New Battery , red warning light . BMW picking it up on Thursday , thinking ECU had a similar issue 2017 replaced ecu under warranty. No warranty now

Red warning light I am now thinking ecu , which was replaced in 2017 under warranty.
No warning working fine day before , next day dead .

Had the bike picked up on Thursday got a call today from BMW to say they have found the problem.
A break in the wire feeding main relay .
Better news than I was expecting

Yes absolutely, Some of the possible reasons were looking very expensive.
Not ideal but could be a lot worse. Ill take that one says you.
