Having ridden a LC for a fair few prolonged days on both motorway, 'A' roads and twisties, I can confirm that the above post is complete bollocks
What are you basing your
'findings' on.... a two hour test ride maybe
Edit, Nutty beat me to it
Absolutely boss, and after 2 hours I was glad to give it back and ride my old pony which is less highly strung. The new bike is snatchy and definately happier in hoon mode, but for plodding around, it's too highly strung for my bones. I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just passing on my opinion. The old 1200 is made out to be a wheezy old plodder, it is far from it. It will happily cruise at a ton all day, the 1150 cruises at 85 happily which is as fast as I need. I have avoided moving to a 1200 as I would lose my license very quickly, the WC is a step further.
Lots of shit riders riding bikes that are way quicker than they will ever need for anything more than bragging rights in the pub as to who's got the fastest bike. An older 1200 is all the bike most riders will ever need, but the allure of more power always drags in the numpties.
Oh, and don't forget the loud pipe, carbon wrap and rim tape, ffs, that says it all!
LC riders only ever parp on about how fast the new bike is, like that is the b all and end all of what a bike should be. They should take an old 250 stroker out it may help them realise that speed is only a small part of the equation.
My old 1150 has done a 780 mile day, followed by a 1000 miler the following day (non motorway). At no point did it feel tiring and but for getting to where I needed I'd have gone further. My bro did Carne to Almeria (south Spain) in one hit on a 1200adv, just can't see the new bike being as relaxed with the twitchy throttle and constant egging on to go faster.
