Doc does Cochem 2025 with special (needs) ukgser guests

I’m pretty sure the pikies are having their annual “ event “ at Appleby this week so best avoid the A66 altogether.
Yep, just looked, 5th to the 11th of June.
All on their way home now I've been informed by my pal who has to close his bike shop because of it.

Painkillers also packed - and not just because Doc can be hard work!!!!
Your looking forward to sipping wine with me.;) or I can buy you ice-cream. If so you can feck off elsewhere and lick it.

Lucky me. I out ran the Scottish rain clouds. Edinburgh bypass was east. I like the A697 to the A1. Handy garden centre just before the A1.

100 miles of A1(M) was boring as fuck. Swung off the A1 to skirt Drax power station for a change. Was almost sunny running into Hull at 19 DegC.

Twice as many miles to save £300.

Another tank fill and a McD pit stop for me before a very easy check in and boarding with P&O for the first time. It is a nicer boat than the old DFDS boats out of N. Shields.

Luckily the ride up 2 decks was done on dry decks. Tie down strap - yes just one laid out for you - was in good condition with an integral pad (sleeve) for over the seat. Not my choice as I prefer one through the frame rearwards and one on my crash bars forwards. I’ve crossed my fingers for a smooth crossing.

I’m on beer 2 now. Can hardly wait for the band to kick in later.

So you were loaded from the back of the boat and not the side ?
It used to be from the side and no ramps to ride up.

Brittany Ferries do the tie down for you. Ratchet strap with big seat pad. You only get the one strap even if it will be lively across the Bay of Biscay, a tad more challenging that the North Sea. Pretty sure BF know what they are doing ...

P&O deck crew don't tie your bike down. Or I've never known it and been using the service for a long time.

They’re doing some upgrades work on the side loading ramp at Hull. All loading, unloading is at the back at the moment. Well it was three weeks ago. Nobody seemed to know how long this would continue.

Krustys bike barn?

Yes, shutting up shop is wise…

Anyhow, have a great trip everyone!
Yes my best mate

That's what they say as we were loaded from the back last year because they said there was an issue,.
Must be on a go slow.

The foot passengers were being bussed onto the boat. The air bridges are fucked

We did enter at rear, but exited straight off Deck 7 sideways onto a spiral ramp. Took about 30 minutes. Then it rained all day. Bugger.

First stop at local Motorrad shop for an oil filler cap O ring. My 10 year old one had a slight weep.

Boy the autobahn autobahns were wet and busy. I must have filtered for miles adding up all the slow down sections across Netherlands and beyond Dortmund.

My ski resort hotel cooled me down.

And now I’m literally cooling down after enjoying this museum I never knew existed.

Where are you kind sir?
I need place names, please, so I may follow your trip.
TIA

Mind you, weather forecasts that far ahead are about as accurate as my mums and she's been dead 20+ years :D
Many thanks for your considered input John!
I'm tracking Ventusky so Saturday should get me from middle England to Dover dry.
Sunday I should follow the rain but stay dry to Ribeauville then another dry run to Cochem!
Hope it continues hot and dry - my favourite!😎😎😎😎
