I was fortunate enough to have use of a nearly new 1100s Monster this last weekend. This was my first ride on one of the new Monsters - Any Monster in fact - and I loved it.

Nice, forward-set riding position. Cracking looks and a really punchy motor with good brakes and sound to match (And that was with the standard pipes on it).

Anyone else ridden one? What did you think?

Crotch rockets have no appeal for me.... but I really like the look of the 848 :drool

I love the Monsters and the update is very pretty. Also had a ride on the S last week. Looooooovly sound considering the standard pipes. Brakes brill :thumb But found the bars half inch to wide either side and they need just a hint of pull back for me. Oh and while we are at it the screen looks fantastic but has to take the crown for the smallest screen ever on a bike. I think they should have gone a bit taller.

Man it is pretty though :kissy2:kissy2:kissy2

Put a deposit down for an 1100 Monster last week. Delivery in 3 - 4 weeks time :D :JB

All I did was ring to enquire on lead time :augie

Oh dear.... I had to go back and have a second test ride but made my mind up I won't get one. I love the bike but I can't live with the bars, had a good look to see if I can swap them out for something slightly narrower with a hint of pull back but as was pointed out the bars are real close to the tank on lock and any pull back would certainly hit the tank :(

Oh well enjoyed the sound. Now where is my shortlist :D

Are you getting it from Ducati Glasgow?

That's the place Phil :thumb2 Following our chat in Lossiemouth, looked into them a bit more. Talked to Blair over the phone and the rest is history as they say. :D

Saw this Multistrada 1100 at the Scottish Bike show the other week. Thought it looked really good in white:cool:

Ahh the Terra Mostro. I contacted Blaine Dehmlow – President of Overland Motorcycles which builds this bike, to see if there was anywhere in the San Francisco Bay Area that I could rent one for a couple of days in June last year. He got back to me to say that there wasn't anywhere but he'd be happy to loan me one for a couple of days and show me around.

In the end I didn't take him up on the offer and rented a GS instead but he struck me as a genuine guy and if you check out the company you'll see that they got into building that bike via their work using off-road motorcycling as a personal development tool for groups.
