Another vote up here. After a ride in which I've been concentrating, I can be absent-minded when I pull up, so simply having the key in the pocket works well for me. And not having to faff around with a key when filling up or when applying the steering lock is a small bonus. Not a necessity but, more generally, when you are spending 15k on a bike, the various extras for 2-3 grand works well for me. But I can understand others' perspectives.
