Hi guys

About to pull my gsa apart to run a power supply up to the front screen area to feed a sat nav and a gps unit.

Is there any supply I can pick up or anything to avoid etc.

Thanks guys

Someone will be along shortly who knows better but I'm thinking there's a supply for the sat/nav or spotlights near the headstock.

:nenau

Thanks.....mine has spots fitted to it so hopefully there will be space left :thumb2

there certainly is!
dealers can supply a lead which will plug straight into it for @£10

Any idea if it has a proper name for the part? SBW are hard work when it comes to the parts department, so as much info as possible can help loads.

Cheers

if the dealer doesnt know which part it is they truly must be useless:blast,
bmw must have supplied thousands of them:thumb2

Guess you have never been to SBW parts dept then, nothing has been easy to source. Normally end up talking them through the micro fiche to find parts when i visit. Tis why i avoid them if possible

if your bike has the standard bmw lights/harness,this plugs in under the tank on the l/h/s above the cylinder.
the sat nav /accessory harness connector is just behind the top headstock at the top/front of the tank cover.chances are you wont need to remove any body work to get to it.mike

Mud,

Have a search through previous threads there are a number which discuss various ways of doing exactly what you're asking about. I installed a power lead to my 09 GSA using the advice given in this post which I found really helpful:
