Electrical gremlins

Took the bike (RS) up to Brecon this afternoon for a run as its been sat in the garage for most of the winter.

As the late afternoon sun started to fade I decided to put the lights on and hey presto I loose the dash lights and tacho.

Indicators still work left and right but no dash light.

As soon as I turn the lights off the tacho comes back to life and the dash lights started working again.

Any thoughts as to where I start.

Have a look around the dash area for a bad earth these account for 90% of elctrical faults on any autos, probably got corroded during the lay up.
