My 2010 GSA was suffering from random stalling, so first of all I balanced the throttle bodies and installed a new TPS, no change. It would stall as I accelerated out over the kerb onto the road, it sometimes stalled if I gave it some beans and then braked aggressively, it was totally random. I have some replacement coils on the way so was hoping that may cure the problem.......yesterday I took her for an MOT, following the usual having to read the mileage to the MOT tester as they find it difficult to comprehend that the bike really does have 153,000 miles on her, the MOT tester took her out......and she stalled just as he left the exit
we had a chat about it and he pointed to.....................
Ok, let’s cut to the chase, I am a dickehead
the fucking side stand was lolloping around as the springs have stretched, not helped by the weight of the camel toe every time the bike went off a kerb or hit a bump the bloody thing was cutting out!! So this morning I took off the camel toe, managed to hook up the springs a bit further away so the stand retracts and does not lollop around and just to make sure bypassed the whole thing. Have just been out for a 50 mile stall free ride. The lesson I have learnt is don’t discount the obvious
She is still a bit snatchy on low throttle, so the coils will hopefully help anyway.
By the way, the stand was only lolloping around about 25mm.
