Got to work this week to see a bolt sitting on the right hand cylinder. Hmm, I thought, don't think that should be there! It was the one by your knee and goes into my motec engine bars and has sheered off. After looking a bit further another one at the front (also on the right) has done the same (but is now in a ditch somewhere). The engine bars have been on for a year so no idea why they've decided to go now but my main concern is, is the bike still safe to use? Seems to ride just the same and I've booked it in next week to a local bike shop to drill out and replace them but I was hoping to ride up to the lakes this weekend and don't really want the engine to fall off on the M5......

Not sure about motech engine bars regarding how they mount mate.

If they use one of the engine mounting points which I think you are saying then it would be best to get a good bolt in there either with or without the crash bars. If both sides have gone the same then this is even more important.

Sounds like the crash bars were not a good fit and the bolts must have been bodged in or someat ...........

If the engine does fall out then be careful not to run over it or you could ferk your tyres as well ........... :thumb
