Eruptions, erections and Champagne.

Threesome?

Did you know........?
That Grey Whales often mate with the help of a third party that props the female against the mating male.

Well there's plenty more to learn in Husavik's whaling museum.

Big.

Right that's enough museums, let's go and find some whales.

Outstanding

so to speak . . .

Lars "tumescent" Pederson, the hard man of Iceland. I wonder if that's real (I suspect not - and where exactly do you find a chick willing to do a naked handstand on your schlong?).

I imagine he would have had a very successful career building letter boxes.

Anyway, fantastic thread. :thumb

I have just three comments

1. You never go anywhere good
2. Your photographs are always shite
3. Your write ups are always tedious and not the in least bit interesting or entertaining.

Actually there is a fourth comment.

4. I'm not even a tiny bit jealous and can do all of the points listed above much better than you ............ Much better :augie

Glad you hate it:thumb
:D

Whale watching is a bit touristy, but you cannot be in beautiful Husavik and not go, besides Ange had never seen whales before so we stumped up our 50 Euros each to go on the much less crowded schooner which would take us out for 4 hours with the bonus that we'd be sailing.

So we set off first to a remote island to see the Puffins then headed out into the stunning Skjálfandi bay, which is here.

Then it's time for us to just sail around watching and waiting.

Eventually I get chance to shout "Thar she blows":D

We did get to see some whales fairly close up but unfortunately was so busy watching I didn't get any good photos.:blast

This was one of the main tourist boats, crowded hey?

I lend a hand to hoist the sails and it's very warm work in the suits they gave us.
P1030821-XL.jpg

The sails are set, the wind pick up and the late evening sun brings some warm, it doesn't get much better than this......or does it?
The skipper gives us hot chocolate a cake then gives me a big shot of rum. Bliss.

One poor guy had his head over the side and throwing up for the whole 4 hours:D, thankfully Ange was ok.

Back to Husavik and the weather's looking good now at last.

Thank god!

Great pics Tim :thumb2

Have you picked up a sensor dust spot on your LX5 (or was it just a big bogey on the lens)?

Do you know, I never noticed until you mentioned it.
The sea had been quite choppy earlier and may have got the camera covered in salt spray:thumb

At the camp I briefly noticed how the cycling couple nearby had muesli, yoghurt and fruit etc. for breakfast.

Then got back to setting myself up for the day.;)

And got chatting with our German neighbours about their journey and of course their interesting genuine war time bikes.

We talked about the film 'The Great Escape', my German friend was less enthusiastic than I but insisted I try his bike.
Afterwards I asked what was written on the front number plate "Do not touch the bike!" he said.:D
