Planes, Trains and Automobiles...

28th July 2024

If anyone is interested, my lack of appetite for life was a result of a new dosage of medication. I'd been on these meds at 3mg per day for three weeks, until the day I was flying to the USA, when they upped the dosage to 7mg. I actually rang the surgery from Heathrow to check, but a step-up like this is apparently normal protocol.

On my return, I spoke to the surgery and explained how I was feeling and that there seemed to be a direct connection to this increased dosage. They took me off them immediately, and gave me a week off, before starting me (and keeping me) on 3mg. I felt back to normal within 24hrs. I have instructions to stop taking the 3mg dose if I experience any similar symptoms (I haven't - and I'm a week into the new regime).

So - that's what fucked up three weeks in California - bad meds...

Actually, I'm pretty sure I had a sinus infection too, at some stage.

Happy to report, my appetite has returned...

Rather happy to hear that its the Meds not you

Great to hear Mike. Shame you can’t get a prescription for a trip back. Juggling meds is a tricky business and as I have learnt recently is a bit hit and miss. Funnily enough it is a bit much that has more of an effect than not enough but thinking about it does make sense.
Does this bode well for a return to two wheeled travel?

One of the two pieces of business remaining evaporated today, when Adrian told me that Heathrow have accepted that payment was made for the 'Drop Off' Dick Turpin charge. Just my claim from AXA Insurance, which is covering the cost of my tow to go...

The other shoe just dropped - Axa have just paid the cost of my tow into my account - this holiday is officially over... :D

Of course, next month I'm off on another one...
