ESA default rider weight?

Spring rate is not the issue it is the relationship between that and damping, the TT shock will be damped to suit the spring and it is manually adjustable so you can set you own base setting and let the D-ESA do its thing from there.
If you respring the OE shock the damping will be wrong and there is no way to change it.

That's what I originally surmised regarding the OEM system so good to have it confirmed, but I'm still not sure how an aftermarket system can set a different base level of damping without affecting the electronically adjusted variable damping set by the algorithms in the ESA system software. I suppose it depends on how the electronically controlled valves in the aftermarket shocks respond to the commands from the OEM ESA software as they may respond differently to those in the original shocks.
