Maybe this will enlighten you guys...
when you install etk..there first is created an admin icon on the desktop (from which you can load the price files)...and here are those choises...

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO INSERT PICTURES INTO THESE MESSAGES OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE PLACED A PRINTSCREEN...

IF REQUIRED I CAN MAIL IT TO YOU...

I don't believe any one has the first idea what the etk program is - we are not enligtened. Can you help us by relating this to the topic of GS'ing?

i guess it's the parts list prog bmw dealers use.

vw have one called EKTA.

Babooska, I have ETK on my computer, great system but I caution you that when looking up parts and rattling off a part number to order a part at your local BMW dealer, the dealers number may be different. I have had this happen a couple of times.

The real value of this program is the ability to check out different models and see if the part No. is the same or different for your particular bike as opposed to a mates later model bike. An example is to see if the 94-96 plastic fuel tank is the same for the 96-2000 model. A quick look will tell you that the part No's are different and that the rubbers up front are different. But the seats are the same part No. so for secondhand stuff this program is quite fantastic.

you would have to have access to the CD that you originally loaded the program from, to load what you are missing. I don't know what you are talking about as I don't remember anymore what I loaded as it was about 2 years ago.

Mick.

Thanks for your information...but even your explonation about the use of the program is what i want (including a price estamate)..so that i know how much money i have to take with me (lol) anyway...I have also some friends with a K100 Lt and a R65...so it's fun to use that program to help them out aswell (for second hand stuff they want to buy)

Hello judge,
i thought that it was an well known program among Bmw Riders...
anyway ETK stands for Ersatz Teil Katalogus ...it is some kind of database program from which you can find anything you would like to use or replace for Any bmw Car or Motorcycle...But since i don't seem to have the hole program (see topic) i can't retrieve all information...so that's why i posted this thread in the hope that i would be enlighted (:) ...

Excellent now we know, but I'm afraid you gave us too much credit, we just buy what the next person's got and then the next item to it in the catalogue to be different :D
