EWS failure....
Is this, suddenly, the new, summer, replacement for "What oil should I put in"? If so, bring back the oil thread...please.
FFS, it's a part that sometimes goes 'pop' for whatever reasons... It's easy enough to carry a spare and to lash up on the side of the road. Preparation and planning and all that....
Endless debate about part numbers, when a simple call to BuMW will tell you what the numbers are and / or panics over getting (or not getting) a 'recall' or 'campaign' letter, VIN numbers and manufacurered years.....not forgetting, the quite incredible, whether the outer ring has 'Ignition' printed on it or not....THAT'S SO YOU KNOW WHERE TO PUT THE KEY IN AND WHICH DIRECTION TO TURN IT - BuMW probably thinking some of their customers are too dumb even to do that, without help....
Should it go 'pop' on a rufty, tufty, adventure motorcycle? Of course, not...but some of them are....All jolly annoying but at least the wheels stay on...
Call up your friendly dealer, if you are really concerned. Or is it easier to tap out angst here, than to pick up the 'phone?
