Have I set my expectation too high
Still awaiting the adaptive headlight but that's another matter , 6 month old Gs1250 TE the air temp on the screen a couple of weeks ago started to read up and down for no reason got as low as -40 at one point , so something not right . Booked into a local dealer I did not need a loan bike as not daily driver anyway 2 weeks and no contact called them to day and I think they have not even looked at it but was told they need to dig deeper , They know I have a trip booked for the 20th of June and subjected I have the bike back and they have it back once I get back which does work for me but when I asked that I will need a bike to replace my one if this is going to be weeks to be repaired they said they could not do that as the fault does not stop the bike for being ridden ?
The service guy called me back and they will get me an update next week but from the conversation I think they have not even looked at it yet due to they will try swapping the sensor to see if this is the problem if not it could be a control unit and this is deep inside and is a large job , I have bikes for years and serviced , repaired and rebuild many , my last GS1200 you could spilt in 2 in hour for a clutch and once you got the tank off the ECU and the ABS unit was all there so I am not sure what he is on about , I think this is a case of trying to blind me with tech .

I believe this is simply down to the shortage of service technicians. Globally, for all manufacturers. Or thats what my dealer says. They are fully booked two months ahead. But continue to advertise for new tecs.
Hope you get it sorted. And soon.

Should be an error code for it, and should be as easy as a sensor swap out. I can't see there being a bigger issues with the ECU seeing the data sent to it being interpreted incorrectly. I believe the air temp sensor is easily replaced removing a few body panels - might be worth asking if they'd supply the sensor and you fit it.
