Nice, I know what you mean, had my 1150 just over 10 years, :eek its become a family member, which is a bit sad but I can't see myself moving it on for a good while yet. I like the simplicity, reliability, and I know it inside out :D

It will get to a point where the original 1200 GS's will be cheaper than the 1150. Bikes still seem popular as I saw 6 at my last bike rally. New bikes are for the young.

I think they already are. I bought an 05 1200 a few weeks ago, 1150GSA's were generally going for more than what I paid.

Yes i think thats the way its going,i loved my 1200gsa but it didnt feel as solid as my 1150gsa i certainly think they will hold value better but for me they sre fantastic bikes...Although if someone wanted to swap me a nice shiney 1200gsa for my minter lol....

They just look the bollocks dont they, Keeper

They do look the bollocks i remember when i first saw the 1100 just absolutely loved the way it looked and the 1150 has that look and more....

I've got a scruffyish Dakar colours 1100 bought from someone on this site... I bought it on the rebound from missing an 1150 with Ohlins for cheap cash... I have a few a simple mods on it that have cost me approx. £400 all in... At the peak I had 5 bikes and nearly sold this when I had something far newer and flashier...

I've had 3 before in various states of tune and rode 1150's and the odd go on a 1200 and this bike is still my favourite out on the lot... It is for some strange reason, the quickest engine out of the 4 11's and with one of Greek John's chips has tons of torque... It has even made me realise what a good idea the original 5 gear design was... No ABS and it doesn't even have heated grips...!

I know the bikes inside out, know how to ride them and what may need fixing... I am totally happy with it and even though I keep thinking of a tidy up, I know this won't make it ride any better and will only make me more precious...

1100/1150's are totally underrated and at the value you see some 1100GS's and especially RT's are the biggest BMW bargains out there...

PS I also have watched Airhead prices go up especially for the "customised" 5 mile trip to the café bikes and this only makes all the above seem so much more ridiculous...:thumb:thumby:

I've got to say that sat on a number of bikes yesterday at the NEC, I looked at price tags of up to 18 grand and thought, "3 grand for a bike that'll do anything and go almost anywhere can't really be beaten". No chance of me changing any time soon.
