Finally....

It might look precarious but it's fine. Tucked in between rider and fairing. Only the very worst storm will get to it and it's solid at speed - I believe officer ;-))

I ride the R1200R Sport with the Givi tank lock ring and an XS319. It's very exposed but rock solid. The rain cover is good and wind is no problem.

I don't work for Givi by the way

Cheers

Clive

Going down the ventureshield route I think and will probably order tank kit only and fit myself. It is vital by the way to protect the stickers on the tank sides otherwise they quickly scuff up as there is hardly any lacquer over the stickers that say BMW. My bikes only few months old with 3000 miles and scuffed already so having new panels supplied next week and I will cover them up straight away to prevent exactly same happening again. Thanks for reply and all the best

Yes I know what you mean. Nutty has suggested I cover up sides of the tank asap too.

What is that black stuff you use on your swing arm?

Eazi Grip tank protection. I ordered a sheet of the Pro, and cut it to size.

Got an order coming from Cyprus for some paint protection.

Meanwhile I have finally fitted a givi tinted screen and a touratech iPhone holder. Since iPhone 7 is waterproof it'll be great up there right above the power point

Waterproof but can't be on charge while it's raining. Once an iPhone 7 has been in contact with water you can't charge it for 5 hours. Anal, but just so you know...
