Firefox Question

I used to be able to type a domain address in firefox without adding '.com'
or 'www' and it would take me to the page but for some reason it has stopped
doing this of its own accord and if I dont type in the full address now with 'www'
and 'com' prefix It sends me to my ISP error page. Why do you suppose this has
changed all of a sudden? tried reinstalling, but still the same.

Chances are your ISP had a custom 404 error page that did a search of the most likely TLDs when omitted, and that this has now been simplified. Nothing to do with Firefox I'm afraid.

That sounds likely as the 404 page does seem new (Tiscali) It's a shame - I found it handy. Maybe I'm being too lazy

Mine still does it- if I type in moto-moroccco or any other site into the adress bar without http://www. or .com etc , it fins it no problem


Try this;

1. Type about:config in the Location Bar
2. Right-click on the page and create a new boolean value
3. Type browser.urlbar.autoFill
4. Set the value to true

Let us know if it works

PS be aware that there are security issues with having autocomplete on in some cases
