Following the Dakar 2009

Brilliant report

Far more of an insight into the real stories of the Dakar than "Coma was 15 seconds ahead of Cyril Neveu at CP2 blah blah blah"

Fantastic

And given the brilliant reception that everyone is getting, without the threat of any militant nutters wanting to blow anybody up, it seems like the Dakar may have a new home for a year or two more. And it seems for sure that they have found an area that challenges the competitors in all repects

Thanks for taking the time to upload photos and all that, which must be a right fag at the end of the long, tiring (fun) days :aidan

I have been so dissapointed with Eurosport sitting up exhausted at nihjt to see the bikes in particular and have felt little or no connection to the whole Dakar. Your reports are fantastic, engaging and I feel its real now. Thank you so much, look forward to your next instalment, enjoy the rest of it.

Orla and Eoin........... what a fantastic job of reporting, I've stopped following the Dakar on Eorosport............ Keep up the great work and enjoy the rest of the Dakar. Will be looking for both of your autographs when yous get home. Best wishes Brian

Managed to watch the Eurosport covereage for the last 2 nights.
I think the guy on Eurosport does a great job , nice relaxed manner, no hyberbole, translates all the interviews well and some excellent footage. Excellent :nenau

Combine this with Orlas super behind the scenes reports and I'm lovin this Dakar much more than previous ones':clap:clap

Some of the helicopter shots of the bikes going through the dunes were outstanding.

Hey Dakargirl, yet another great report! it's interesting to peice it all together with what's publish on the Dakar site and via Eurosport...

Filling in some of the blanks for you as it were... as we understand it Ivo Kastan (195) is out, he blew the lower cylinder gasket on the pit bit and had to limp through a stage (5?) following a support truck. He's fixed his bike and is now following the Rally like you guys, apparently his wife is reporting on the Rally and he wanted to keep up with her.

Big news here last night was Al Attiyah was booted out of the rally for missing several way points - but I'm sure you'll have got to hear way more about that there ;)

Any news from 'on the spot reporters' ref: Terry Pascal?

this is without a doupt the coolest thread ever anywhere what a fantastic experience:cool::cool::cool::cool::bow:bow:bow:bow

cant wait for the next report:thumb2

Reports are great Orla. I watch Eurosport twice now. First time for the race second time checking out the background for you or Eoin. Sounds like a great trip, you'll be ready for a holiday when you get back.

Ride safe, Chubby

Just Great

Just like all the other posts I just want to say it's compelling reading and to say thank you guys and gal for taking the trouble to write it all up for us all.

Just like the Dakar riders ride safe and I look forward to reading your next report.

Gday Guys I see a few of you cant watch the show as you have no TV

Go to the SBS Australia Dakar site ( goggle it) and they have all the stages for every day on video.

I hope this helps someone

Go Dave and Johan team Rallye Pan am
