FOR ALL EES STUFF, QUESTIONS, CONCERNS, MOANS, JOYS AND ANYTHING ELSE

You do know that you can move to the EU...I guess you have a pension, that would satisfy the criteria for residency in whichever country you choose.

I do know that. It would be very disruptive at my age though - and there are family reasons too.

When all the mentally old are dead there will be hope. :D:D:D

If only I had Irish heritage instead of Jockanese

Excellent...would be awful to think that the angst caused by something that happened years ago could wear off sufficiently to prevent whining about something (maybe)that's going to happen years hence....keep it up! :DD

Que ?

I will keep it up though, as we pay more every day. :D

Yup! Or Geordie in my case!

Yup.

We are now the second class citizens of Europe, forced into following EU dictats as to how we can travel and work, totally unable to say FUEU or ignore the rules. A Spanish peasant farmer on his smoke belching tractor has more freedom of movement than us.

It’s amusing to read all the ‘The UK must re-arm and must align its defence with our European neighbours’, much of it from the same loudmouths who screamed blue murder at even the rumour of a European army.
Much as the loudmouths that denied a European army was ever going to exist ;)

Good to see the Brexit Derangement Syndrome is still extant... :D
You’re so right.

There are those so convinced that Bexit was the road to the promised land that they deny the obvious:

We are worse off
We have less freedom of movement
Many purchases cost more
It made European export business so much more difficult, time consuming and costly
It made no difference to illegal immigration and massively changed the demographics of legal immigration
It substantially reduced the security of the UK and of the EU.

Set against which we have the following list of benefits.

Sweet Fuck Alll

Interestingly, the “Remoaners” predicted all these issues, but the turkeys voted for Boris’ oven ready deal, strutting round, desperately over confident, but unable to see beyond the ends of their beaks..

And you’re calling me deranged?

You might want to mention the above to your parents & grandparents

The resulting slap round the face , may may you ask what they signed up for??

The European union most certainly wasn't it !!

There’s what I take to be a EU passport holder’s lane, going in at the new development at the Chunnel. It misses out the bloody great shed, the operator has been forced to build.

Watch them zip past, whilst you sweat in your Adventure suit, sat on your steed of awfulness.

Isn't that the current setup already?
I routinely get out of the UK with my British passport and the use the Italian one when going through the second passport check from the French. Opposite thing on the way back and they are sorted like that. Unless I am missing the humor bit :D

Isn't it because from 12/10 UK only passport holders leaving the UK & going to the EU will need to undergo EES biometric registration and checks whereas EU passport holders (& hopefully UK bods with a EU residency card) will take the other route and just get their passports scanned and avoid all the EES delays ? I'm not sure what happens if you've a group travelling some with EU passports and some with UK.

Same for me with my froggy ID card :D

Should be interesting next year when the full biometrics with photographs and fingerprinting are introduced , the first time there will be significant delays especially coming off the ferry on the continent when every single one of the hundreds of UK citizens need photos and fingerprints taken .
Just wondering if in subsequent years anyone who has already had their biometric data taken will be put into separate lanes (with the Johnny Foreigners ) so as not to encounter these protracted delays.
Also add the expected delays when those who do not have their £20 ETIAS visa recorded on their passports

Glsncing (on the move) through the hoardings at the new and very large shed, bring built at the Chunnel’s Folkestone end, it seems to be a multi-lane / multi-electronic ‘station’ affair.

I am not sure if there is a parallel one on the `French side, though I must confess I haven’t looked too hard.

I thought we were going to separate ourselves from all this European ‘red tape’, along with a bonfire of laws? FUEU, as I recall, whilst we concentrated on tightly secure borders of our own, banging the millions saved into the NHS and implementing the oven ready trade deals.

Hey-ho, I guess we’ll get around to implementing the will of the people some time; probably just after we win the World Cup.

Isn't the full biometrics thing part of EES from day 1? See the FAQs here. It's ETIAS (the visa application) which is being implemented next year.

They all go to the same showers.

BTW, now I understood the thread. Ya'll worrying UK > EU.
I was somehow thinking of the other way round.
Makes more sense now.
I, ledfarmer, and EV will wave while we go past the expedite route. :D
