Fork Stanchion recall?

A fair point ..........

But - since the next owner of your bike - will have great aspirations of what he will do with the bike - it would be a good idea to get the anomaly fixed at some point, during your ownership?

Al

Is there an anomaly?

My bike is outside of the notice period - Sept 2013 and no crimps.

I got the impression you had an affected bike................

Since you don't - it might have been simpler to avoid the 'headline' - as if you had.

Fair point.

I put in a couple of earlier posts that I was fine and not affected by the review.

Always one who has to bring racial and religious content to the thread

Hey Stevie,

Did you miss the post your squeeze made in the security questions thread - to be fair he did edit the post shortly afterwards so I'm not surprised you missed it. So let me help you - it's quoted in post 6.

Theiving oiks everywhere, more so now with permeable EU borders letting thousands of religious nutters/Romanians/Albanians/ into our country.
All in the name of diversity heh?

Arguably, all you can do, is remove everything every time your bike is out of sight.

(Your position is exacerbated in the SE where the whole bike is the target for these gangs.)

So whats post 6 in another thread got to do with your post in this thread ?

I cant find the user "your squeeze" to see what he wrote on this thread so your explanation does not make much sense sorry.

I'm off into Allan Jefferies in Bradford this pm to have the check done and put my name down for the clamp once the parts arrive.

Had mine in for a service yesterday with Allan Jefferies, 21000 miles +. Mentioned the fork recall and even though mine is a September 2013, and not subject to the check, they did check it and pronounced it fine. Still don't know why mine is not subject to the official check and neither did the person booking it in .

And why not Hexheads?

They have the same setup & crimping!!!

I think the problem has reared its head since people have started emulating the BMW the advertising videos with off-road gods getting lots of air and then bottoming out the suspension - BMW bosses might be instructing the marketing department to tone things down a bit :)

You ride your bike according to your own sense of fun/adventure/skill/knowledge surely?

Or, are you one of the twats who watches a red-bull video and then says ... "hold my beer....."?

Had mine checked in Riders Cardiff. They were fully aware and explained the whole thing. Mine was fine, as expected.

same here ...Bowkers checked mine, they showed me exactly where the issue is ,lifted up the cover ,measured any differences , made a note and recorded the details .. I have asked for a written report too, which they are doing for me .. 2017 Rallye

Surely if it was a problem it would have shown up on the"BMW Off Road Skills"bikes?

Maybe, people are too quick on the attack because it's BMW. I remember when I got my new 2008 Fazer 1000 and the talk then was of frames cracking on the welds, Quite serious stuff but I don't remember Yamaha being criticized like this.
