Went for a little ride this morning and the old girl has developed a bit of a front brake problem which is if I Pull lever in gently it comes back to the bar but all the time it's coming back to the bar it's braking but nowhere near as much as it should.
Then try again with a bit more force it's fine
Bikes 08 non abs ,new fluid last year.
Any ideas anyone:nenau

Not a big job at all , fit new seals, bleed system, pump brake lever and cable tie on overnight to get all the air out of system .

If you can find master cylinder seal kit will you pst the details. I have had no joy finding any.

Thanks

Alex

If the performance change has been quite sudden its likely the fluid level has dropped too far and let in some air.

Bleed the brakes. When you are fed up with pumping the last few bubbles through the bleed nipple, top up the reservoir and watch for bubbles escaping as you move the brake lever. I got more fine bubbles out if mine by doing that than by any other method.

I've not changed the seals. IIRC BMW only offer a complete new cylinder.

Update ,all done now 2nd hand master cylinder fitted yesterday and I now have a good front brake:thumb2

Last time I looked on the Motorworks site I never found the repair kits. But they do indeed offer new internals for front brake master cylinders. If the bore is clean it's all you need.
