Fuel Warning

Hi Folks
Can anybody tell me roughly how many miles I can expect from my 2003 R1150GS (non adventure) after the fuel warning light has come on? I confess, I haven't done the sums yet.
Can anybody give me a rough estimate if I'm cruising at about 80mph, sixth gear and 4000rpm?

30 to 40 miles, depending on the flexibility of your right wrist....

200 to the light and the most I've seen with the light on was a further 27 and I began to panic because I was in rural Wales at the time!

Depends on which speedo drive you have fitted.

Std GS speedo drive: 200 to reserve & 40 left

R/RS/RT speedo drive: 180 to reserve & 35 left

These figs were the averages I used to use to prevent running dry so they are approx & on the safe side.

Strap a can to the rack and run it dry - it's the only way you'll confidently know...
