Looks like BMW let the current since 2013 generation GS run 2 more years and replace it in the end of 2022 with a all new 2023 R1300GS for the 100th anniversary of BMW Motorrad...
Less weight due to more lighter and cheaper to produce cast frame pieces are a given as also more power...How much is pure speculation but looking at KTM's 1290 and soon Ducati's 1100 V-4 in the Multistrada 150 hp will be the bare minimum and 160hp/155nm more likely...
Hopefully also an underseat exhaust for 2 same sized bags as also a 24 liter tank for the regular as a 34 liter tank for the GSA in order to take advantage of the power without having to stop for fuel every 2 hours or so...
As for the engine if all new with a center-bearing in order to take 10000 rpm max or a evolution of the current then 10 year old LC mill only the boys in Munich/Berlin will know...
Seeing the new EU-5 versions of the 1250 GS I hope someone makes a dyno comparison as also roll-on comparison between the 2019/20 EU-4 and 2021 EU-5 versions to see if it had any negative impact like switching from EU-3 to EU-4 had for the 1200 GS in 2017 !?
My plan is to ride my current 2019 1250GS-HP for 2 more years and then depending if the new one is all new or just a evolution of the former generation to get one of the last 1250 ADV (because I do like the 100 extra miles in the tank ) in T-B or Rallye white (they do look good) and wait 2-3 years to get the bugs worked out of the then all new GS....
Unless the M1300GS or R1300XR however they will call it makes me so horny that I can't resist and violate my own code and become an early adopter in spring 2023...
