I bought one of these for the garage to turn the GS around and it won't take the weight of GS repeatably as the centre stand has to be off centre to allow the centre stand lever to have clearance.

Can you recommend a turn table mechanism more suitable to the GS?

What's up with yours? I've used one of these for 10 years. 2 1200GS', 1 1250GS and now a 1250RS and it's worked just fine though I have had to change the rubber pad. It was a bit critical on the GS' where the stand was positioned on the pad to avoid the centre stand catching the wheels when moving it about and when trying to put it on the stand, but I put an alignment mark with a sharpie on the paint work to help get mine in the right place.

No idea what you have there.
I have one of these,no problem shifting me RT(not had the need for the GS yet)and me slightly lighter Suzuki.

Plenty of room to get the stand down.Buggered if I can remember where I bought it(German shop i think)

This is what I bought, had now for over a year, made the mistake of putting bike stand down on metal base plate, Metal on Metal, can cause slippages, which surely did in my case.

Hence now have a thick rubber car mat cut to shape glued firmly over it, No more slips n spills.

It works best when it's level with floor, in my shed I needed a cleaner floor and put down 2 x 8ft x 4ft sheets of 3/4" inch ply, cut a hole large enough to fit turntable into.

All I have to do is position front of rear wheel 1" inch from Turntable then lower stand and lift up, easy on my r1200GSa to rotate, apply body weight slightly to back of bike and turn.

Just remembering it's always there, and not step on it, or its back to disco dancing technique trying to maintain balance and graceful equilibrium. :rolllaugh My shed dia. is 10ft x 12ft plenty room to turn around in.

I've had one of these for many years, and it works without any problem. I put the lever in the vice and bent it out to 45 degrees. I then use a piece of tubing to get the leverage to lift it.
I usually have the GSA on it; at present, it's the Commando.

This one looks way better than the cheapy I got, as the centre stand weight is shared evenly. When I use mine the is a huge gap difference comparing either side thus feel it won't last as it's loading up one side consistently.

Buy cheap, buy twice 🫣

They also do one with brakes on the wheels, rather then the bar and block that you move through 180 degrees to lock/unlock the stand, which can catch on the centre stand extension when you're locking the stand in place before you get the bike off it if you're not accurate with how you position it when putting the bike on it.

They are well made, the wheelson all of them have a rubber compound tyre, rather than hard plastic so move across small irregularities etc on the garage floor better.

As i was mostly bored i tracked down the one I bought.I certainly don't remember paying that for it so must of got it in some sort of deal they did.
As i said earlier, moved me RT around without any issue. The RT was left mounted on it throughout the winter then moved back out of it's corner again without any issue.Does the job perfectly.
