Glad you are pleased with it. They are a great piece of kit, just wish I got a 1GB CF card before I went to the Alps (got back last Sat) Could not load all of the area I wished for so had to use the base map a while, and I tell you it did make a difference. Have CF prices come down?? I see PC World now sells a 1 GB for under £100

Hi Ritchie, yes mate GPS warehouse and TT mount,

Capt, CF cards 1gig 7 day camera shop £79.99 dead cheap although I have not bought one yet, the 256 MB card takes the whole of the UK in anycase so thats all i need for now, but when my next European trips come up I may by a 2 gig card and never have to worry to much about the maps as 2 gig will take the lot. 7 day shop does 512 MB £39.99 just got one for my camera Konica Minolta A2:D

CF Cards - beware

The CF cards sold by 7dayshop.com (Viking Brand) dont seem to work in the 2610, I've had two & depite formatting them the correct way ( according to PanEuropean - who seems to be the GPS oracle!) the unit just shuts down after the first page. Garmin states in manual that "some manufacturers cards............. prevent unit from fuctioning correctly" which doesn't help a great deal:(

Have to agree on the 2610 tho' - superb bit of kit, when me & SWMBO got lost in France last week "Betty" got us to our destination along single track roads thro' bloody huge maize fields. Can't imagine the trip without GPS now - spoilt aren't we;)

Beware any card that has the dreaded "WA" logo on it. Lexar CF media so described has already caused me considerable grief on account of this development. Apparently there are 'issues'.

WA is only of any advantage if you have a very topmost end prosumer digital camera. WA stands for 'Write Acceleration' and enables you to keep taking lots of pics in succession like a motor drive camera. It only works with a very few cameras thus being unnecessary in a GPS and asking for trouble.
