Garmin 276C Question

Having just bought one of these fine units I am struccglig just a little to find out how to operate certain features - mainly finding places. The instructions for this seem to fall between the 2 manuals that I have - 276c manual and the City select manual.

So I would like to know if I can :-

a) Do a postcode search.

b) Search for a street by name when I don't have a house number or the houses are all named rather than have numbers.

All help appreciated.

So far as I'm aware you can't do a postcode search using City Select V 7.0.

You can however find a street using the address function. You will only find a named house though if it is listed as a feature, otherwise it's a case of driving up and down the street looking for the name.

Are you trying to do a postcode search on the GPS unit, or in MapSource on your PC?

I'm trying to do a postcode search on the 276c but also struggling to find certain roads / streets where the houses are all named and don't have numbers?

Eg try finding Shendish Drive in Hemel Hempsted !!

Just try any number.
If you get to the street thats close enough for the drive up and down technique

Thought of that one but some on some roads all of the houses are named ie there may only be a couple of houses in the street and they both have names! Any other ideas?
