Have you seen the new Garmin 278C ?

it's the successor of the 276C, with a 2 GB internal memory
and City Navigator NT Europe on board.

It was at the southampton boat show on display at the garmin stand. It is exactly the same as the 276c but has the whole of europe city nav nt v9 maps on it.

Interesting indeed! NT-maps means that it will support full post code search. This indicates that it may have different firmware than the 276C. What more?

According to the italian website there are no other differences than the 2GB memory. No POI-support, no sirf-III receiver, no new functionality. Lets hope they are wrong.

The huge negative news is the price of the 278C. Over EUR 1500.- Huh!

Martin, the Zumo is great on a R1200RT.
No offroad bullsh-t. The 278C is only for us outdated GS-freaks with mud between our ears.
