1: designed to mount in car only (mounts at the bottom, not from behind) garmin states "Not Motorcycle Friendly"
2: not waterproof
3: only holds 50 routes, designed just to get you from A-B

I use bi-focals. Works fine to see my SP3 screen.

There’s the rub Howard, I tried Varifocals for 6 months and still couldn’t get on with them. Tried 3 Different types of lenses, ending up with the most expensive (which were I’ll admit a whole lot better) but they still made me feel queasy.

Mirrors my experience exactly. £300-odd quid wasted. I hate getting old.

I've found that (for me) Varifocals are a complete waste of time and money when your heads stuck inside a crash hat. Think about craning your neck around and swivelling your eyes fully to either the right or left side at a junction.
Bleedin' hopeless. What you get / see is even more of a blurr than usual. Try it with your existing pair. It's crap. Your Optician should verify this if you only ask.......I didn't. Peripheral vision a problem Sir? Well now that you mention motorcycles and helmets I can see that it might not be so good really.
It cost me about 275 quid to find that out and was less than pleased I can tell you.

Interesting to find another person had problems with peripheral vision and varifocals, because when I described my problems to the optican, you would have thought I was the only one!
In the end I had to spend another £60 to get better lenses, then my peripheral vision was quite good, not as good as ordinary single vision lenses, but ok.
And I'm sorry about the hijack too

Took me a couple months to get used to my first pair of varifocals.... Changing around between kinds would (I should think) extend the journey... Now I have to do more than just tilt my head around to be sure I have them on... (the backup pair of glasses have a simular frame)... takes scrutiny...
Thing is, I got my sunglasses made in fixed focal length at the time... and found my 'instrument scan' time was getting slower and slower when I had the sunglasses on... so I went out and bought a pair of these last week:

With inserts... bi-focal inserts... now I'm getting used to having a line in my vision... but instrument scan time is much improved! (Though I find my mirrors are in the close distance part..??)

Now to be fair... the reason for a larger screen was because of the need for bi-focals...
but after "it isn't waterproof" what more is there to talk about the 7200???
They do make large screen marine GPS's though... that autoroute...
