Garmin Ximage

Has anybody had any success creating their own waypoint symbols with this software, Iv'e uploaded the editable symbols from the GPS but when I edit them I can't send them back, anybody else tried this programme???

Have you got the absolute latest ximage and unit firmware from garmin. I think one of the 3.30 quest bugfixes might be what you're seeing. Same bug might be in other units too:-

Changes from 3.00 to 3.30:

1) Improved city searches to include entire state name if abbreviated version is
not determined.

2) Added ability to view depth markings on BlueChart data in preferred units.

3) Corrected transfer of custom waypoint symbols from MapSource to the Quest.

4) Corrected display of large German cardinal letters on the map page.

5) Added display of tide stations.

6) Improved ability to search addresses that contain extended (alphanumeric) house numbers.

Ian, Its a 276C and has the latest 3.2 firmware and the Ximage is also the latest, is it something to do with colour depth, I have the images set at the 24x24 pixel size so the problem must be elsewhere.

I've done it.

They appear under the "Customised" category - it took me a while to find them
Bigger difficulty is making something thats worthwhile using only 24x24 pixels at 8 bit colour.

As Simon says, you have to learn and play with the software but it looks pretty good when it works
