About 2-3 months ago I noticed at the beginning of a ride that once in 3rd gear it didn't respond to down shifting to 2nd. The gear lever pushed down with what felt like the normal travel distance but no click feeling into the gear. It continued to happen within the 3-5 gear and after about 10 minutes or so all was well.
This morning, some 6k miles later, the same thing happened at the beginning of a ride only this time it took longer to correct itself. I could go up to 6th but in order to come down to 2nd ( or find neutral or 1st) I had to stop, turn the bike off...rocked it back and forth gently in gear and play around with the clutch lever.
Again, it did correct itself and on the way home it was perfect. I replaced the clutch slave 12 months ago and there is no sign of weeping from it now, the clutch is not slipping and the fluid is fine.
I changed the trans fluid this spring and checked the level which is fine. The shifter linkage is tight and the two ball fittings are clean and lubed.
Any thoughts?
Thanks..
