Gotta move mine so I can ride it with the MX boots on. Think the brake's okay for now, but wither way that's simple.
Any pitfalls, dos/donts worth knowing about before I set about it?
It's an 08 GSA btw.

No pitfalls - undo star bolt and remove, take gearlever off shaft, move round on splines to correct position, replace and tighten bolt. What could go wrong?

Or you can fine-tune the position with the adjuster.

Hi oi , no pitfalls , just dont over tighten the little bolt, did mine for mx boots and got a plate in my ankle so cant bend my foot right down , you can alter it on the splines or the piece with the rubber on it swivels around too for fine tuning , hope that helps :thumb2

Cheer fellas - sounds simple enough (*awaits disaster*)
Luckily we're having lunch with friends today and I'm not driving, so I'll sink a few pints before I start - that always works out well. :beerjug::blast

Issues....ermmm

1. Adjustment as per manual is just of the rubberised bit your toe fits under/over. Have set this as high as it goes and, not having a torque wrench to measure -8n have screwed the thing back on to what I consider "ok".
2. Still nowhere near enough for the Tech 8s to fit under there though. Presumed whole lever itself came off - have removed "rear" screw but that doesn't do it.
What am i doing wrong/missing?

NB: Two pints of of Hooky at lunch and a can of lager during job itself only.

Are you being serious? Gear lever adjustment is fairly basic......did you actually read what I suggested?

You got it sorted now or you asleep on the garage floor :thumb:beer:

Aye, all good - although actually riding is gonna be interesting in the new position and with these boots.. :roll

I did, and was grateful for it. In fact I had the laptop in the garage. Issue was there was grit in the shaft so despite doing it right the lever wouldn't shift off. Just wasn't clear I'd done it right at the time and didn't want to break it - as it was it "jiggled" off and I could brush it clean before resetting. SO, thank you and :comfort
