Gmail question

Hi computer gurus....anyone know much about Gmail ?

I've got a gmail account but I want to set it up so that if I get an email sent to another address it will come into my main gmail account.

Example: main gmail account = [email protected] other email addresses = [email protected] and [email protected] - can I make it so that everything arrives at [email protected] inbox and I can choose how I want to reply ?

dunno if you can do within google, but you can do it if you have gmail forward all your mail to a normal POP3 account (eg. outlook express) but it depends on your ISP whether they let you send out emails with someone elses address but theirs on it. some do, some don't.

At the top right of the inbox page gclick on Settings, when the page loads click on

'Forwarding and Pop'

And then it's self explanatory.

Hiya Whatton, in my defence it's effing hot, and the buckets of sweat was running into my eyes (best I can think of at the moment) though I did wonder why someone was asking such a simple question, possibly because I feel a bit simple now.

Gecko go easy on me I wuz only trying to be helpful mate.

Yup - thats the idea. I want one anonymous email address which I can use when I don't want all and sundry to know my real name and then one for friends and family where I use my own name.

Send yourself an invite to open another gmail account. Open the new one and forward all the mail as described above to your "best" gmail account.

If you haven't got any account invites to give away I can send you one

Just having a browse on Ebay and there's a twat who's actually auctioning his Gmail invites, @ a £1 a shot I've got £100 just sitting there, and whenever I give an invite, google makes up the number again.

The thought had never occurred to me, perhaps this is why I'll die poor

If you use Gmail notifier as well, it pops up a little box in the corner of your screen for each of the accounts when one gets a message

Edit...plus their spam filters are very very good......my 'dodgespam*at*gmail' address gets thirty or so spam mails a day but they're all put into the spam folder and only the ones I want get through to the inbox (you just have to use the report spam button a few times and it quickly learns )
