The desktop has finally crashed and it's time to buy something new to serve a main computer for emails, web, photo management and some personal office stuff.

I really need to buy now and was pretty set on a 13" Mac Book Pro, but now I've seen the new 15" version and I'm on the horns of a dilemma. What should I do?

I have a 13" and love it, probably use it more than my 27" IMac.

I see the new 15" Macbook Pro with the retina screen is £1800 though! :eek

Retina 13" pro in the works. I'm holding out as the 15" won't fit in a GSA top box (except diagonally).

If you travel the 13" MacBook air is what you need.

Any of the above. All good.

Mine is a 13", but I travel a lot. When I move house (with a study) I'll hook it up to an Apple monitor. However, a mate of mine has a 15" matt screen which is gorgeous.

As 'Our Graham' used to say, the choice is yours.

If size isnt an issue (fnar fnar) go with the most you can afford would be my advice

Pretty sure the Retina display is not available on the 13" (or at least it wasn't listed when I looked on the Apple site last week)...

Mike

i think it will be soon.

i have the current Macbook 13". it's very nice but and good enough for most of what mutley wants, but IMO is too small for photo editing. much nicer on a big iMac. depends how much you do really, and whether it's staying put on a desk. no point pissing about with a laptop if it never moves.

Well I am posting from my new 13" Mac Book Pro and it's lurvely :drool

Be prepared for lots of stoopid Mac related questions :pullface
