or, rather, f**k off, talk talk you bunch of incompentent, slow, sh*ts:spitfire

fdriven to despair by the crap service,(they were consistently rubbish from the very first)and escaping from the contract, took the plunge and switched to sky

got quite a good deal out of them altho' had to speak to their cancellations bod to get past the scripted sellers "you must have had a good deal when you joined sky for tv, so we wont give you anything now"...but threatening to go to cable saw me switched thru to cancellations and after a fairly long but productive chat, got my sky+, sky talk and sky broadband at a reasonable price and much reduced upfront costs!

still dreading the switchover, in meantime had a laugh getting mac off Tw*t Tw*t tho', they could nt understand/believe that whatever they said I was still leaving them! How dare I!!!! what a hoot, had a good laugh at their expense, describing their sh*t non service from day one

changeover day arrives, (all the kit had arrived as per promised dates by the way, bit of worry that)
plug kit in and away we go, no problems with desktop or laptop...amazing!

and sky+ is great, we find it so easy to use....no more rows about not setting dvdr up for right channel/program/time:beerjug:

full marks to sky on this one...what a relief!:thumb2

I'm a Sky TV subscriber and investigated their BB and phone package. After googling for some feedback ratings it appears that their router is 'locked' with your username and password. It seems that these routers aren't that reliable and can go u/s within a year and because of the 'hard coding' you can't use any other one to substitute, you have to wait anywhere up to a month to get one of their replacements.

Because of this and the fact I'm nowhere near a LLU exchange or cable operator I've given up the possible move to Sky BB.

Got Sky Broadband and no problems for me

My flatmate does some odd hours and he noticed some dropouts during the day during Business Hours that I never experienced.

They dialled down the connection so it was no longer trying for the 16meg. I think it's now at 8meg. You never get these speeds anyway but it is plenty quick and now hassles at all. According to my (very techie) flatmate, the Technical Help Desk was the best customer service he ever experienced. I'll have to take his word for it.

I've had absolutely no problems with the router. It is locked, as mentioned previously, but that isn't an issue for me.

locked or not, makes no difference to me....what makes a difference is that I am now getting faster speeds (3 or 4 times as fast)than I ever got out of plonkers at talk talk, who knew less about computers than I did, which is amazing when you consider that I know jacksh*t about them:eek:

as for breakdowns, well lets wait and see....so far they have left TT for dust, which feels fantastic to me after all the cr*p I have had to put up with from TT:)

I too left talk talk after experiencing the worst service and customer care imaginable. I too left them in no doubt as to what I thought of them.

Just a small word of caution.
I have a friend who binned his broadband supplier after seeing my Sky broadband speed and he didn't cancel his direct debit with the bank as he thought that they would be honourable and do it from their end. :augie
Needless to say he had the hassle of getting his hard earned back.

Just a thought in case you haven't cancelled it with the bank.

I had a dodgy router from the get go which Sky didn't believe and it took me a month to get one sent out.
After a nice conversation with numerous people about the fact that this had cost me money as I use the account for my business emails and downloads I was getting nowhere.
Eventually got through to an advisor who actually listened. Told him that in my opinion they had breached there contract to supply me with internet and as such they could take everything out. (Sky+, Bradband, Sky talk).
Paid my out of pocket costs, refunded month that I didn't have connection and credited my account with another month as a good will gesture.
Credit where credit due, when you do speak to the right people they do seem to put things right very quickly.

No real problems now apart from having to turn the router off every now and then if it has been on for a long time as my laptop won't connect from it.
Once switched off and then back on everything seems to be ok.
