Just inherited a GPS V with the new bike 
Already got mapsource loaded on the laptop. Had no probs loading maps with my exhisting unit... tried plugging the GPS V in.. got to the transfer page... it then searches for devices and comes up with a dialogue box saying:
'Some devices found but none have the necessary capabilities.... you may need to set your interface option to garmin or host...
I can't get any further than that.. as the unit is loaded with northern maps it aint much good unless i can upload some local maps.. I expect to have to input the codes for the unit... but can't even get that far
