Evening all, I’m looking at returning to the Canaries late Jan ‘25 and was looking for any other recommendations for bike hire. We’ve previously used Canary Ride.

We used Motor GC in Las Palmas when we were there earlier in the year. Small but friendly family run outfit. Decent range of bikes and scooters.

Are they defunct or no good?
Morning Wapping, they're still there, offer a great tour service and have well maintained bikes. This year we hired two AT's, an NT1100 and a Ducati Desert X which were all great but i think something slightly smaller capacity / size might suit the roads better. Just seeing what there is,

I completely agree with you about not needing larger bikes in Gran Canaria. I am now a firm convert to the 'smaller' bike world and am keeping my eye out for V Strom bargains (of which there appears to be many at the moment).

I've just came back from a week in Gran Canaria. I wanted to hire a bike for a couple days but the wife didn't go for it so we settled on a can-am ryker. Pretty dreadful thing but the roads were great fun and the weather is lovely. You definitely don't need a powerful bike as generally the roads are twisty with low speed limits.

Thank you. Best to be sure, in case they were no more or had gone bad,

I’ll make the post a sticky at some point, as it may well help others.

I am currently out in Gran Canary and have hired a 1300gsa to tour the island on with wifey on the back. Hired bike off Canary Ride, excellent service and had the bike delivered and collected from my hotel. Highly recommend. Agree you do not need a big bike but I personally chose the BMW as it’s similar to mine back at home and know it can handle all road types safely with a pillion.

Hi PD, I went for a Ducati Desert Sled as I too have a 13 and fancied something else for a change. I’d have like their MG Stelvio but it was booked at the time.

How much was the 1300 to hire out of interest?

Barry,
Yes they have a good selection of bikes, I fancied the multistrada but stuck with the GS as I know how to ride it with a pillion and also feel confident throwing it round the twisty bits!!
