Grip Puppies alternative?

Early days so don't go getting all excited.

I'm looking at getting some alternatives to grip puppies made and imported. The originals are great but so many people I talk to have trouble securing them that I wondered if there would be interest in an alternative?

There are a number of possibilities. Better quality foam, dener or looser foam, shaped grips. With a big enough order thay can be any colour you like - purple?

Not looking to make a fortune but may be able to do some at under £8 delivered in the UK.

There is no problem in securing grip puppies...use self amalagating tape at each end.

Mine have been like that for 25k hard miles and still do a great job

Must admit my grip puppies secured fine even after using washing up liquid to get them on.

I would suggest that Mr B is referring to the constant difficulties in getting them (the UK distributor has occasionally been unable to get stocks in good time) rather than securing them to the bike

if you did a search on any Bike site for 'Reynauds', 'white knuckle' , 'tingling fingers' - you'd soon find a market for faux puppies. ( silicone instead of neoprene perhaps ).
Serously, i think they'd sell - many, like me would try anything* to get rid of numb, sore, stiff lower arms and hands.

*that is, anything cheap, tasteful and manly / no floral patterns or burberry.

The Reynauds thing was actually part of my thinking. I have a chum who suffers badly, even on a Hornet. There are different grades of foam available, including denser and thicker foams..

Hopefully I'm getting hold of a few sets for evaluation. Will be in touch.

FWIW,

i've had less trouble with traditionally vibey Bikes - especially the Guzzi, than with jap multis.

low frequency: good.
high frequency: bad...

e.g;
i have sometimes got on the Guzzi with backache and got off it an hour later pain free .
maybe that's just me

Think I'll go ahead with a similar but slightly different product.

My business plan will mostly consist of being easier to deal with than the competition .

I assume these type of products go over the original grips unlike replacement grips, therefore, how do these products work with Heated grips, does it just dumb down the heat, i guess as you dont use a glue based product to stick it to the orignal grip it shouldnt be a problem.
