Hi All,

My bike is 2013 model (August build). I had a chance to ride recently 2 brand new 2015 GS bikes ( one today actually, while my bike is at dealer for misfires inspection) and my first impression was how easy it is to roll the throttle on new bikes. I reckon BMW changed the spring which control the roll back move. On my 2013 GS I fill more resistance from the grip when I open it, like it wants me not to roll it that hard, whereas new LC encourages you for sporty riding. Has anyone noticed that or know this for fact? In my opinion 2015 bike throttle ( if it did change between 2013-2015) is much nicer to operate and after riding bikes back to back, when I'm going back to my GS I fill like it is "lagging".

When you take this one back ,
The only way to be certain is put yours along side the 2015 one
,flash the two of them up and play with the throttles on both .

If you are right , bring it to the mechanics attention and let them do the same.

Then if it is an issue with yours , you will see it and feel it there and then , with a second opinion.

I'll see if they allow me to do so...but in mean time I used BMW US ETKA website and dug up the info I was after. It doesn't say what changed but it definately did! The most recent change is this new 5.5 Ohm heated grips applicable to bike from 08/2014.

Hey! This could be a good way to upgrade your heated grips too!!! :beerjug:

I must admit, 2015 LC heated grips are definately hotter! I never complained about my 2013 LC grips, but now I think I should...:D

A small squirt of silicone-based spray between your grip tube and RHS handlebar will almost certainly sort the 'lagging' feeling. :thumb
But don't use any kind of grease - not even lightweight silicone grease. It will slow down the throttle rotation even more.

I picked up bike from dealer and early impressions about bike performance are positive. Throttle is definitely more resistant than 2015 bike and revs are not as quick on new bike with heavy flywheel. I didn't get massive misfire yet.

When I was on my way to drop loaner, it managed to cut out on me when I blipped the throttle only little bit when pulling on 1st gear from slow rolling speed while I was approaching traffic lights and red was still on.
