How do I convince my mate to go for the GS? He's on a Blackbird at the moment and likes the GS but the VFR has a more 'familiar' feeling I think...he's had the GS for the weekend and goes for a test ride on the VFR tomorrow....help! :nenau

I would'nt worry,he will definately buy the VFR ,far far better bike, better engine, build quality, riding position etc.

No point trying to convert him:comfort

Why bother trying? Neither of these three is better than the other. They are all so radically different. What rocks his boat ?

Its bland to look at:thumb. The last vfr was A let down and that had a v4(owned one)

I agree about the VTEC - I only kept mine four months - but the original 800 has a lovely engine and I'm sure the 1200 would be great too. I love the styling on the white or grey versions too. Only the red doesn't work for me.

To be honest i agree the original 800 was a peach, shame really they seem to have dropped the ball since. Sounds as though a k1300s could be a better bet than a vfr.

pre v-tec 800's always get raved about,I had one a good bike no doubt, never tried a v-tec one or 1200 so can't comment.

As for believing here-say waste of time .everybody rides and expects different qualities from a bike.

Me-best bike i,ve ridden so far-----KTM 950SM.

Others may not agree....probably because they have never ridden one:D

Owned two VFR750's and a Vtec. All very good bikes with my preferance being the last of the 750's. I did about 100 miles on the VFR1200. Fabulous engine, super smooth shaft drive, handled, braked and beautiful build quality. But too sporty a riding position for me, but a better place to sit on compared to the Blackbird I rode.

What's the VFR like offroad :blast - not comparing like with like :aidan

Has your mate tried a multi strada ? Best of both worlds :rob

Probably just as capable as the vast majority of GS's. :D

Someone that we both know always claimed that he could go anywhere on his green VFR that I could on my GS. I always refuted that. Somewhere on youtube there's a video of him on his ST4S on Barra beach.....:blast
