GS vs VFR

:thumb exactly, and why do you care what he gets anyway:confused:. 2 completely different bikes, strange choice to have.

...different but closer than you might think.

Both have a shaft drive, vital for owners who don't want to oil or adjust a chain.

Both are more than capable of crossing Europe in three days, a month or a year.

Both can carry reasonably quantities of luggage and a pillion, without effort.

Both are capable of wearing the latest 'must have' tyres (see threads).

Both will support GPS, heated grips, muffs and assorted electrical trickery, cameras or whatever.

Both will accept a battery tender.

Both can get a puncture.

Both will get wet when it lashes with rain, or get hot when it crosses 30C on the mercury.

Neither have a toolkit worth a light.

I see, so what your saying is ..............they are both bikes! :thumb

I see, so what your saying is ..............they are both very capable bikes! :thumb

Fixed :beerjug:

The final choice of the two will come down to the purchaser..... unless he buys a FireBlade or summat else..... and who cares what the bod buys, he'll maybe fall of it anyway :D

Does it matter what bike your mate prefers? Are you happy with the GS? If so, who gives a monkeys if others like it or not? :thumb2

As this thread seems to have wandered off..thought I'd have my say..

Had the original VFR800 which was superb. Foolishly changed to one of the first VTEC's which was the worst bike that I have ever owned (and I have had a few!) The fuelling was terrible making the throttle behave like an on/off switch. A well documented issue which Honda refused to acknowledge. It all happened around the same time that the pan euro's started weaving all over the place resulting in the old bill withdrawing them from service...Mr H ignored that one too!

Anyway, as a result tried a BM and have never regretted it.

Result.......

Didn't expect to stir up such a debate....but thanks for all your input and the jury has reached it's decision.....it's the GS! Mike from southport superbikes has had his work cut out but has done deal on a triple black GS this morning just a few months old and barely run in.....I'll introduce him to this forum next!
