Allihies again.. but off to Asia soon....
Last year, Joe le Celt put me in touch with a guy called Brendan Power for some training, however due to break down of dommie and imminent trip away I did not get around to it.

On top of this Brendan who sounded like a nice guy was interested in meeting me in Cork or Limerick for city training riding.

I don't want this as I spent years commuting into London and then Bruxelles (one accident btw), what I really want is a decent instructor to follow me whilst I ride like I normally do and tell me, how good or bad a job I'm doing....As I have absolutely no intention of ever commuting again...

To top this all off, I have a few friends down here and I am sure some of them could also be interested. On a one to one bases. So is it possible for one of you GS'er tosser instructors to come down here for a weekend, we'll put you up and pay for your time....

Just a feeler BTW and I have not spoken to my m8s about this. Two of them are getting prov licenses and need an instructor cert for Insurance, and two others are already riding but could be interested to improve their skills.

Og, Celt etc what d'ya reckon...

Should be cheaper for an instructor to move for three or four individual courses than the other way around, and on top of that its so beautiful down here

Brendan Power (McIvor) rider training.

I'm sure Brendan Power(mcivor on here) will be along shortly,:augie click the pic below for his website. :thumb2

Hey, McIvor !:rob

Richie,

i'd be more than happy ( :bounce1 :augie )!
to come down - i've done exactly this for a number of groups (references available).
can be tailored to exactly what the group decides on.

happy to discuss further - eMail / ph./ p.m. :thumb2

Thumbs Up

:thumb2For Ogmios...he did a couple of group training sessions with myself and a crew from work. Well recommended:clap.

Denis.

sorry to hijack the thread but I like the idea also and would be interested in something similar in the south east (kilkenny is good)if theres any other inerested tossers, maybe ill start a thread seperate.. in the meantime Ogmios you have pm.

would be interested in this too, what kind of group rate would be available - oh and anywhere within reasonable distance - like central Munster would be great!!
:)

An interesting statistic...

Just back from the informal "advanced rider session"...

Now I got to lead a leg on a bit of road I did on Sunday....

I had my GPS with me and was not thinking of what I ended up doing...

On sunday I was going for it and did a 75KMH average speed on this leg 20miles

Today on my last bit of the session I did an average speed of 74KMH...

Oh dear I hear you all say after all this training...
But...

On sunday my max speed was 35KMH faster than today... On top of that I really felt good about todays ride where as Sunday, sometimes I was maybe a bit on the limit.... I don't mean dangerous, just "limit"

Brilliant.
Now all we need is the Official session.

Thanks

... :bounce1
it's good that innit? :thumb2

you dont even have to ride faster / you just dont slow down as much. :D
net result = you get more output for less input.:thumb

this is revealing;

put a bicycle speedo on a Bike.
cheap, many functions including
~ average speed.
~ max speed.
~journey time.

now go for a spin on a favourite route.
3 times.
first - gentle pace.
second - normal pace.
last - brisk pace*.

*the following is a Stealth and Hasty Statement
:rolleyes: *sighs*within safe limits :rolleyes: and note;
this post and it's contents Taken At Your Own Risk.

measure average / max and journey time for each run.
difference; notta lot.;)

So far three people... Out of all the people who thought it was a great idea... I am a little disappointed with the locals. Don't you just love it when you arrange something useful and it seems that it won't quite work out.

wait and see.

Basically meaning send me a PM if interested, its six people max for the weekend..
