I've been BTBR'd! I know everyone is sick of hearing it but I'm gonna say it as well - BTBR is the light GOD!

Great service, amazing attention to detail, not a single thing I can complain about!

You might notice the PIAA's encroaches a little on the indicator space but I chose to run it that way as I think of all the configurations we tried this one looked best. The pictures doesn't show it too well but you still have a very good view of them so I am not fussed. Will have to wait and see what the MOT man says in a couple of years. I've not yet been out in the dark but I can already say that there was a significant difference in drivers actions around me when riding the bike home.

I am a very very very very happy man! Highly recommended!

nice one, I too have seen the light.I like the carbon effect fork legs!
You should have got the Migsel powder coated black, a job for the winter maybe?

Not sure about those indictors at all .....with the lights on they won't be visible. Head light bulb somewhere between 55 to 100+ watts , indocator bulb 21 watts. Result - headlight will drown indicator.

Whats the little pocket bike in the back of your garage there ? Does it fit in a TT pannier ? :P

Yeah we'll have to see how it goes. I am still unsure about the position but time will tell. Maybe at some point I will try a different lightbar\configuartion but for the time being it works OK.

The little pocket bike doesn't fit into the TT panniers sadly :( hehehe, it's a battery operated Harley Davidson that runs by pushing a foot pedal for my 2 year old boy. He loves it! Wonder where he gets that from...

 Jaybus....those indicators would worry me.....lookslike a great excuse for a smidsy to claim he hadn't seen them

You can get repeater indicators that fit discretely under the mirroe edge, might be worth looking at.

Either that or I think I'd be looking at increasing the bends in the Migsel bar to lower the PIAAs....it'd bring them inan inch but wtf, at least people ahead could see your turn signal.

Not what I was thinking of initially but something like these;

Keep in mind guys that the PIAA's only switch on with the high beam. The high beam will not likely be switched on when there are traffic in front of me so the PIAA beam will never drown the front indicator for oncoming traffic.

I have been having a good think about how best to maybe remount them. But it all depends if your current set up vibrates or not?

If it does'nt them maybe we can add a couple of 3/4" spacers under the bar to lower it down? As I said to you yesterday IMHO bending the bar is not a good idea coz I think that it will cause it to vibrate even more.

BUT, maybe a set of these brackets will cure the problem:-

nice but expensive

Personally I like this idea, as it mounts the PIAA lights up good and high, therefore the better the light pattern on the road.

But please let us know how you get on. I have to say, those PIAA are the dogs dangly bits I have to admit...........chuffing expensive mind........but bloody good!

Just my advice, don't put spacers between the light bar and the mounting on the beak, unless you want to gouge your fork legs beleive me I know!

Thanks Noel.............hmmmmmmmmm.........I had a funny feeling that that might happen, which is why I did'nt do it yesterday.

So, it could be back to plan 'B' then and stick up 'um high out of the way!

Just a thought, but had anyone used or seen lights mounted using the Cycle-Gadgets brackets?

Or maybe someone else has any thoughts or ideas as to how you can mount two sets of lights, one set being PIAA 510's?

BTBR

Seen the cycle gadget mounts very well made you remove the spacer for indicator stork and you can fit the next size up PIAA without problems, just alot of cash for very little really.

BTBR - yes, they vibrate quite a lot. Depends on the speed I am doing and where I am in the revs, sometimes they don't vibrate at all. I think spacers will make it worse.

I think I am going to get in touch with miGSel and see if he can do a modified version of his lightbar. If he does a bar that is cut from thicker steel, say 4-6mm and alters the angles a little I think it should be OK.

For now though, I am very happy. I just checked the bike again for how much of the indicator is visible and I am still happy that even in this configuration they work 'well enough'.

I like em. I want em. How do I get em???

If you are refering to the PIAA 510's then I would suggest you buy them from US Ebay. They sell for about $150 but you'll need someone in the US to send them to and then get them to send it to you as the Ebay company that sells them don't ship to the UK.

I am doing a trip to the US in August, might bring a couple of sets back with me. BTBR has priority though.
