When I sell my bike it wont now be replaced by another BMW. Thats my simple solution. Hope you are reading this BMW.

We were told by BMW that the grips wouldn't fit. They would only know that if they had tried them. There is no way BMW would have designed new grips and not tested them and that testing would have been long before the release date in Aug The only bike they could have tested them on at that time would be a 2014 bike.

They have known all along they work. We all know the reason why they have taken this stance - PROFIT. There are tens of thousands of LC's out there, most with heated grips. They have dug themselves into a big hole and do not like the only realistic way out. Even when they been proved to have lied they continue to stick their head in the sand.

These bikes come at a premium price and with that you expect the same level of customer service. It's about time someone at a senior level in BMW had the balls to get involved and sort this out once and for all and do it NOW.

I will not be spending any more of my money on another BMW bike as the customer service you recieve is CRAP, people will only take so much then they will walk to another dealership. There are now more choices than ever before and people will buy them.

If BMW are not carefull the bubble will burst and many people will go to a different brand when their bike is ready for replacement and this will have been caused by a very POOR back up service by BMW.

I feel very sorry for some of the hard working dealerships who are getting a lot of grief over poor quality of some of the parts on the BMW range , past and present, and NOT getting the back up they should have from a main dealer.

Lots of unsatisfied customers , over 500 posts on this issue, I for one am really pissed off as I've had my bike into 2 different dealers on this issue, I just thought the dealers were Tossers, now I know their hands are tied..
Honda VFR 1200, my mates bought one, 3 year old, not a problem with service back up at all, every tiny whim catered for..

As I see it, if you have a 2013 bike you'll just have to accept the heat output of the grips, as is

If software changes have been fitted to later bikes, that can't be retro fitted to older 2013 - which are getting out of warranty.............then that's that and you'll have to suck it up

2013 bikes heated grips work, the switch works and the grips get warmer than ambient temps - so as far as BMW are concerned the part works

The question of heat output is subjective, no two people are the same...............but you can't argue that the 2013 bikes heated grips function, when switched on

So, if you're cold, buy some heated gloves to supplement the grips

I really think 2013 bike owners are not going to achieve a resolution which is satisfactory to them, because the grips do indeed work and that is all BMW are interested in

As you state the grips do work !!! but they are around 20 degrees c cooler than the previous air cooled model and there is the same difference to the later 15 grips. You expect progress with a newer model bike, not a big backward step.

Some of us use our bikes all year around, I am not happy at spending £15000 on a bike and having to suffer cold hands because BMW have ###### up on their design when I have not had any previous problems with my other bikes.

At the end of the day BMW so far have not given a straight forward answer as to why the grips have such a difference in temp !!!

If fact BMW do not give straight forward answers, they just dish out bullshit and hope that you will go away which many people will !!!

I run a small company and I get things wrong at times, but I will put them right if the customer is not happy and I am at fault, different people have different views but not all the people on this forum are wrong are they!!! There are are lot of very unhappy customers which BMW seem to be going out of their way to NOT HELP

I am a lucky one who due to the common sense of Pidcocks have managed to get the later grips fitted, I have had them on for a few days now and they are great, they do the job as they should, I can feel the heat even on the low setting, just like my old aircooled model.

I should not have to consider having to buy a pair of heated gloves because BMW have cocked up on their design when I have never had the problem before.

BMW need to sort this out quickly for all the other people with this problem, they have know about it for nearly 2 years !!!

I decided to try out my heated grips this morning for the first time, outside temp was 5C when I left my place for a 25 mile ride.

I was wearing my GS gloves, these are warm weather gloves so predictably after a few miles my hands were starting to be come a bit chilly so I turned my grips onto the low setting - within a couple of minutes my hands were far too hot so I had to turn the grips off again and my hands became cold I conclude that these new 2015 grips are not fit for purpose because my hands were either too hot or too cold, on my 2013 LC I would have been comfortable.

You would have thought that BMW would have made their heated grips work properly with their own brand gloves wouldn't you?

This experience has totally ruined my enjoyment of the new bike that I have had for barely 2 weeks - I demand that BMW rectify this problem at their expense or give me huge amounts of compensation

You are aware there are other glove makes out there?... Or do you just lap up the bmw thing?!

You appear to be happy with all these issues, they are genuine issues for many people. I think you just like arguing the toss...be it grips, gearchanges, clutches, the list goes on. Clearly a superior being.

At least they work Engineer!!!!!, I am sure that as skilled person with your great knowledge you would be able to put a variable control to adjust the heat so that yours hands do not get too warm !! at least it is better to have the option of being too warm rather than too cold
