Looking for a hotel in the centre of Bergen that has its own secure parking for BMW's and Harley's.

Can anyone make a recommendation?:thumb

Many thanks in advance.

Having just got back from Norway/sweden I dont think you need to worry too much about 'secure' parking. If you have a couple of chains to lock one bike to the next you will be fine. In Sweden even though the IBIS had secure parking it was such a hike we parked out in the street , no probs, (6 bikes) beacuse the car park was a bit of a hike.

In Nottoden we parked at the front of the hotel , lttle did we know that a nightclub entrance was right next door and at 4 am the area was full of drunken teenagers and souped up cars with steros blaring. One of our group went out to check if the bikes were being vmessed with and yet there was no problem, nobody even touched the bikes , they were very respectful unlike british teenagers who would have been jumping all over 'em or knocking them over.

I stayed at the <basefont>Radisson SAS Royal Hotel - it's right on the harbour next to the tall ship. I just hope it's stopped raining by now....

I stayed in the Radisson a couple of years ago. Parked on the pavement at the front of the hotel - no problems. Never had any trouble in Norway and always parked on the road or in the open car park. The only thing to watch for is blocking disabled access - this gets the law interested.

It was dry when we were there ....

Could have been called Abba :nenau

90% of Norway are secure parking for 90% of the bikes =
99% of the BMWs are safe, but not 99% of the HDs... :)
...but don't worry; if you hook those two bikes together not a soul would nick any of them as a HD-thieve would never touch a BMW or the other way around!:D ... but no guarantee from me...:augie

Honest:
They do nick bikes over here too, and make them tilt. But often when I hear the story about how&and type of bike that are nicked, these are typical:
-No lock or only one disc lock at the front wheel, no chain.
-In a garage, shed, on the street; -it seem not to matter much as it seem like they know what bike they want.
-BMWs was not popular before, but now they are getting nicked too, but again not as often as fast jap&italian bikes and HDs.
-Tilt/damage when parked: Not often, and not on purpose.
-Goodies that needs screwdriver to remove; -I've never heard any has lost any thing that way when parked.

It's better to park it a place many people can see it then on the back as the thieves does not like to be seen when they are at ''work''.
Next to a disco? Drunk people do things, but on the other hand there are guard/Police keeping an eye on places like that, so... a place so all can see it but not where it's too crowdy with drunk people is the best?

Rain in Bergen? No, not right now! A webcam for you here: http://www.aftenposten.no/english/webcam/?kart=detalj&id=44&tittel=Bergen :thumb2

Abba = Swedes! :rob
...and a good advice for you; -do not mix up Sweden & Norway - we like that as much as you like to be mixed up with Scotland, England, Ireland, I.O.Man and Wales - and Northen Ireland! (-Did I mix up/forget? ).
Bagpipes are typical for Wales?
Scousers are living in Belfast?
Volvo are a Norwegian brand?
Sweden has the best fjords?
Find the errors.:P ;)
The most dangerous vikings was Norwegian no matter what they are telling me - I have my fingers in my ears, I can not hear you - la-la-la-la-la!!:liv :liv

:liv :liv Liv.
