Garmin Express

BE CAREFUL

I just dared to upload the new maps....

That was a stroke of luck because the latest version of Garmin Express ver 4.1.21.0 does NOT offer the options to download to "device only", "computer only" or "device and computer" (device means your satnav..)

When I came to download the maps onto my notebook.....

If you are tempted to download the latest maps less than a fortnight before you go away, please don't. There is ALWAYS some problem with it!

If you are running BaseCamp this might not matter so much in the short term. Why?

1. When you connect your device to the notebook, BaseCamp should drag the device's maps across. So you should be able to use them to plot a route.

2. Likewise, if you have the latest maps on a computer but not on your device; if you create a route on your notebook, when you export it to your device there should be an option to export the maps associated with the route, or some words similar.

This might be a good enough workaround until Garmin fix the glitch.
