all being well i'll be coming over for my nieces 18th birthday. i'm looking for somewhere to stay around hyde. can anybody recommend somewhere decent but reasonable. it's a surprise visit so can't ask the family to give us suggestions. Billy

All depends what you're looking for really....there's The Village, not a bad place...rooms are decent and it has a bar, restaurant, gym etc http://www.village-hotels.co.uk/Hotels/Hyde/default.aspx?linkid=InteractiveMap

There's also a Premier Travel Inn at Mottram (end of the M67), which is probably a little more basic, but cheaper. http://www.premiertravelinn.com/pti/hotelInformation.do?hotelId=24177
