A simple question you would think

Email to my dealer 5 days ago - no response
Email to Honda garage - replied in 30 minutes

And then I'm told when I phone BMW:

"Its the busy time of the year" - no shit Sherlock

"The RT recall has been hell for us" - yes me too and I've got a GS !

I guess this is a problem when you put them on a pedestal and you find it's not really how it is. Disappointed - used to feel valued.

It's a while since I've worked in a customer facing role but my, how we used to laugh at some of the valued cutomers that we had the pleasure to deal with :)

Snap, the dumb shits we used to get in the main dealership (Jap four, plus Triumph and Duuucarti) were hilarious...fond memories have been stirred

Thanks Doc

I did first time!......then I learnt how to remove the wheels( or rather bought the requisite tools) and whip them down to Bike Tyres Leeds - smashing people

Yep main Yamaha dealer 15 miles down the road and as cheap as any local tyre dealers or online by the time you pay for fitting

Same here, last year Local BMW main dealer were doing such a good price fitted that no independant round here could get near to. This year sadly price has gone back up to about £20 more.
Always worth trying a main dealer just in case!

You didn't think to try a tyre retailer?
perhaps give one a ring?

The mind boggles it really does

Edit: here you go, would you like a grown up to help? https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=motorbike+tyre+retailer+uk

Was a comment on service received (or not) rather than requesting info on how to buy a tyre, but that's useful advice if I stroke your knob

I was going to kind of say the same thing. Just buy the Tires yourself from a Tire Store and put them on. The rear Tire is too easy to change and it's good to know how to do stuff like that. I just watched a youtube video the first time I did it and I asked for help on this site. I had forgotten to use soapy water to lube the Tire to get it off the rim.

But back to your Post. If a Business can't be bothered to get back to me, I guess they don't want or need my money. Oh, what sad times are these when Dealers do not reply back and can say
Ni at will to old GSers. There is a pestilence upon this land, nothing is sacred.

Why would anyone not get a main dealer to match the price of a tyre fitter?:P

That's the way . The last time I used a dealer I got them down to within a couple of quid of my best price. I also parked on the forecourt and took both my wheels out to have them fitted to loose wheels which was included in the price.

A lot of main dealers aren't interested in matching a price as they are busy enough with much more profitable work going through the workshops.

More importantly though, I'd much rather support a local independent outfit than a great big corporate WBM dealer, especially if cheaper which they normally are - a win win situation and I'm sure you'll have empathy with that what with running your own bussiness and all :)

Any good independants around Chesterfield, Notts, Derby?

Just want one that knows how not to trash my wheels!
