On Saturday I took a train ride down to see Steptoe. Where I gave him some cash in exchange for the 1100 GS:) I'm pretty please with it so far. Long time since I've ridden anything weighing more than 140KGs, so its a bit different! But it handles its weight well with the wide bars, much better than my old K100RS 16V I owned years back. The telelever set up is fine, but different. Again, just takes getting used to I suppose.
Nice to meet Neil and always glad to see a proper workshop! Just down from the city too, so its more than feasible to get Neil to do any work or servicing I need. So good news all round.
Cheers
Dave

Welcome

to the madhouse:D

I hope Steptoe offered you a cup of tea?

I bet you were grinning all the way home (maybe got lost down some country roads on the way!!!)

I hate to think what the last owner did on that seat :barf

Welcome to the madhouse !

water the plant to the right of the door as well
or they will not grow up together
good luck with the 11

:beerjug:

My god....You actually managed to sell that old heap Neil!!!

Well I guess you win the bet then.......Was it the hooky paperwork that did it or did you have gnasher and lurch standing behind you looking menacing??;) ;) :D :D

Welcome Taipan......look forwards to seeing you down at Eynsford.....this thursday in fact......first one down there gets to break the ice on the ford :D

Nice one Reverend!!!

I'll be getting mine a week today - who knows, we may get to meet up one day yet!

Have you bought a pipe yet? I just got back from Amsterdam last night and brought back a very nice one........

Andres

Hi Everyone
Thanks for the welcome.:) As far as I know the seat is a standard colour? I hate it though, so it is getting recovered in black by Viking Vinyls on thursday for teh princely sum of £55.00.
Hi Andres, no I haven't got a can for it yet. I did buy the bike with thge intention of just running it and not doing anything to it, but well quiet bikes = Yuk!:P I'd like to get a Remus with a removable baffle. Or if Blueflame do one for it, I can get them discounted.:cool:I did wonder about a T3 but then I saw the price! £400 whats that all about!!
I'll maybe get a s/hand Remus off of Ebay, they seem to crop up on there quite a bit.
Cheers
Dave.

No, no, no.....not that sort! Was refering to the pipe and slippers that we need as BMW owners;)

I thought the flip up lid and full beard were de rigueur for BMW riders?:D

Nice 1100

Nice looking bike, shows how well they "age". Used to have one in black with the red seat option - that was unusual but DID look nice!

Welcome aboard - now be prepared to spend some more cash;)

Cheers
